Njie’s Mobile Repair started in 2009 with one Toyota Hilux, a toolbox and a phone number passed around by word of mouth in Westfield. Fifteen years later it is still the same idea: a mechanic who comes to the car instead of the car coming to a garage.
Banjul traffic and Banjul roads are hard on vehicles. Most of what we see is the same handful of problems — a battery that has given up in the heat, brakes worn past the point of being safe, a cooling system that has never been flushed. We fix those properly, explain what we found, and tell you honestly when a repair is not worth the money.
We work on Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Mercedes and the small Peugeot and Renault vans that do most of the island’s deliveries. If it has an engine and four wheels, we have probably had it up on the jack.
